Pure Bliss

Tonight I took my last final of the semester.
Nothing feels quite as good as turning in that last exam.
And in the words of mag, it is "pure bliss."

The one person who may be happier than me right now is Rob in this photo.

Life is good.

love

Does your husband ever take your pillow from you while your sleeping and put it on the floor?

cool. mine doesn't either....

Sunday, December 6, 2009

these cuties.

I played with these babies all weekend.
i love them.

and every five minutes lacey said,"liz where zach?"
me: "he's at work lace"
lacey:"oh. ok call him. i love zach he funny.

i got her to go to bed by saying if she slept all night we could play with zach in the morning. so in the morning we went to breakfast with santa, with some of the downs syndrome kids and their families in the area. but lacey wanted to skip sitting on santa's lap and go home to see if zachy was awake yet.

i think she likes him more than i do...

6 months and still married.

i like when you put your name into songs and make up new dance moves {and teach them to my brothers. these moves should not be passed on}.

i like when you buy me flowers for no reason, but always say you dont know if they're the ones i would like. i like them all. especially when they're for no reason.

i like that you dont get the point of making the bed {or putting extra pillows on it} but you do it anyways. 2 days a week.

i like when you buy the groceries {even if it means 2% milk and white bread}.

I like when you try to fix things and you get out your 20 dollar tool set from target. but i still usually end up fixing it:)

i like friday nights with little caesars and the trusty DVR.

I like that you think im pretty with no make up on. {or at least pretend to}.

I like that your a picky eater but will always at least try {even if its just one bite} anything i make.

I like that you love movies and love showing me movies i havent seen and pausing every fifteen minutes to explain to me what's going on even if i dont ask. {very few people could handle my constant gasps or questions during movies}.

I like that you eat smoothies over milkshakes and strawberry ice cream over chocolate and a chicken sandwhich over a hamburger {even though i think its kind of really weird}.

i like that you always lock the door when you leave before me in the morning.

i like calling you at 8:50 from work and asking what your doing and what we're going to do when i get home and what you ate for dinner, even though i usually already know all the answers.

i like that little kids love you, even if it is at my expense.

i like that you surprsised me about where we were going on our honeymoon {your usually not very good at surprises}.

i like that you think its funny when i freak out about things {i only sometimes like this}.

and i like that your stuck with me forever. i wish you luck boy.

Happy 6 months and a few days!
love you!
Photos are by my friend michelle... after our wedding.. she's building her portfolio and me and zach got to help her out a little bit. probably because his suit is so good looking.

anyone need their house cleaned?

today i made dinner for my husband {its sad how happy this deprived boy was}.
and yesterday i scrubbed our bathroom.
and organized our kitchen cabinets.
tonight im going running.

hmmm.... finals must be right around the corner.

when they overwhelm me, i do nothing.
someone come help me {our house is too small, there is nothing left for me to organize!}.
but it is one way to get me to go running:)

4 down 4 to go!

you guys 2 more of my friends got engaged.
and i couldnt be happier.

and i might only have 8 friends, i might not.

crazy corinney and danny. I love that many of their pictures are as fun and cute and make me as happy as this one. love you two. take care of this girl danny long legs. she's a wild one.

jenessa & bradford. not just high school sweathearts, but BOUNTIFUL high school sweethearts. love it. i know this pic is blurry but i thought it was so sweet. and when they came over to our house {apartment} B kept kissing ness on the forehead and i loved it.

Congrats you four. thanks for getting married.

And although you people planned your weddings on the same day, never fear. L&Z will be to both.

Also, I've been trying to upload this video that was on my friend Camille's blog,
but i keep failing.
So check it out here. if you have not already seen it.
I thought it was sweet
and worth watching.
hope you all had a nice thanksgiving.
we did.

thank you for thanksgiving

byu has one break in the semester, and that is thanksgiving break. no spring break, not presidents day break, no fall break; nonetheless, i'll take what i can get.

thank you byu for giving me a break for thanksgiving.
now only if murdock hyundai would give me a break too....

im very excited to go to my family's cabin for the break, i was put in charge of cranberry sauce and a tasty drink. mainly because i told my aunt that i could make cranberry sauce {i made it last year and it was a success} she didnt have as much faith in me though. responding hesitantly she said,"oh from the can?" No, not from the can sandy. I'll show you, you people of little faith in liz's cooking.

Also I have to make a pie for zach's family's thanksgiving on sunday....hmm. ive never made a pie. but i loooove french silk pie. so i'll try that. zach said they'd like it. but sometimes he lies to me. like about living on a hill with a view. do people like french silk pie for thanksgiving? or do they stick with pumpkin and apple. oh well, im making french silk.

the only thing im sad about is that my babies (van, ash, lins, and lace)arent coming to the cabin. i love them and i want to keep them.

but i do get to go see where the wild things are with my mom and grandma (and maybe my babies van and asher) today. i hope i like it as much as i liked the book!

this is my favorite picture of van and ann dee at the hot air balloon thing in provo on the 4th of july. i love it and im going every year.

confession.

tonight i ate 8 pot stickers {and was maybe still hungry}.
and when zach asked if he could have the last bite of the last one, i said no and put it in my mouth.
about five minutes later he said, "remember when i was eating lunch today and i let you have the last bite of my burrito."

you guys im a crappy wife.
and im very possessive of my food.
and i never cook dinner.
i need help.

Your welcome husband.
And the rest of you concerned for my well-being.

i love..

afternoon naps.
going to dinner with daley's, dave and high school pal e west.
having ry b and mag come over for a late night chat.
and on top of all that watching our thursday night shows until one in the morning.

i love thursdays.

And then there was one...

I have some good news and some bad news.

Good: I wanted to first say happy birthday to my little ones, chocolate lar bar and chelmer glue. you guys are VERY old now.

but, i feel like we were in the flamingo costume, chalking cannon cottle {every friday night for 3 months}, and prank calling mo town {too many times to count} like it was yesterday. we made quite a team.

I dont know why i like this pic so much, I think just that it catches a good memory.

Bad: My main point of this blog though, is to tell you the bad news. Little lar has left provo.

Who is going to come play with me when zach plays basketball on wednesdays. and who is going to help ruin chocolate chip cookies with me, or go to the store with me when all i have in my cupboards are potatoe chips and tuna fish.

maggie, im sorry to say that me and zach are going to be requiring more of your time now. we cant just count library time as the only quality time we have, zach needs you too.
well, good bye bug.
you are missed.
{and this is just probably my favorite picture of me and lar, or avril lavigne, whatever..}

Last night I asked zach why we never hang out with my friends, and he said it was because i didnt have any friends.
Although this is not true, it is true that i only have one friend left in provo.
{at least one friend that would come watch tv with me and my husband on demand}.

Please dont leave us alone in this city mag!
{and this is just a pic of some faves from freshman year, i need you here mag pie. provo just wouldnt be the same}.

Interview. check.

Those of you who are forced to be around me often KNOW that I had an interview for an internship with porter novelli for their L.A. office........because the count down started like 2 months ago... but I just wanted to let you know that it is overwith!

Dont worry, I was prepared for this sucker, zach has been interviewing me for the past 2 months. candice and david can attest to these awkward Q and A's.

He also guilted me into going to kinko's at 830 in the morning to print my resume on nice paper.

He also ok'd my out fit this morning {even though my pants were not ironed}.

He also told me to not blab, because sometimes when im nervous i just talk people's heads off. you may know this.

If you are being interviewed soon you can reach him anytime at 698-0949.

p.s. dont get too excited, freinds. I pretty much cant get it because i didnt take the prerequisite course. there's always next year......

Oh hey Taza, want to hang out?

This is Taza, or Naomi Davis. Me and my friend Lar helped her with a photo shoot of the 5 browns. Naomi was their stylist and we did their hair and make up. Or lar did and i just straightened and hairsprayed. They looked amazing though. Im excited to see their new album! They were so cute and way nice to work with.

I've been following Naomi's blog for awhile now. She's a doll. Her and her husband have this little dream life. They live in DC and he takes her on surprise trips to the Dominican Republic for her birhday. So maybe I want to be them. Anyways, it was fun to meet her. She was a cute girl. Different than I thought, but really sweet.

So, now were best friends.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

meet my husband.

you guys.
i think my husband set his alarm for 5:30 in the morning to do something for fantasy football.
Please tell me it was a dream.

But I also had a dream that he saved me and for some reason my friend lar by throwing us out the window onto a tramp and making the bed so the bad guy, who brakes into my house often, never knew we were there. so thanks. and i forgive you this once.

Get off on 500 East in AF and go West

If you're looking for a haunted place to visit this month, I recommend going to the haunted forest. It's in American Fork, but its worth the drive and the money. They are even very entertaining while you wait in line, including playing the music video Thriller several times as well as live scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean. We loved it.

me: do you even work in the this haunted house?
man scaring us who did not work there: its not a haunted house its a haunted forest.
He won.

A word or two from Zach

Well, I finally decided to write on this blog. Im going to write on what I have learned about liz's sweet spirit since we tied the knot. First thing is, her robe. This robe you will find over liz's clothes anytime she is at home. For some reason she comes home, makes sure the cookie jar is filled with oreo's(which she buys in bulk but never eats), and puts her robe on and watches "What I like about you." It's ok with me, I like the robe's fabric. It's soft. Also, at the hours of 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm Liz is an axe murderer, or at least I believe she is capable of such acts. Yes these hours are right before lunch and dinner, and at 12:15 and 6:15 she is an angel. It's a true axe murderer to angel transformation. Yep those things as well as these: HOUSE, making me put toilet seat up, sitting indian style staring at apartment decorations for hours, wanting to watch a movie really bad and then start cleaning in the middle of it, talking during movies at theatre, won't let me sleep with the sheets untucked, being grossed out by the way food looks, but for some reason likes nasty looking homemade bean and cheese burritos. But she is the cutest girl in the world and for those reasons i love her. p.s. if you see us on the street and we ignore you its not because we don't love you, it's just that were too busy with work and school to say hello. Check out the promo for my next fight, call me for tickets

A regular conversation around our house (apartment)

zach: liz do you know who that is?
liz: yes its jobe.
zach: and.
liz: jobe from arrested development.
zach: and who's husband is he?
liz: amy poeler's.

this is what we do. he likes to think he is culturing me by making me learn facts about movie stars.

and what are we going to be for halloween??
we are thinking miley cyrus and billy ray cyrus...
this was last year. brad and ang. we need something better... suggestions??

cute mary and andrew

Our friends Mary and Andrew are getting married.
Congrats you two.
I cant wait for the beautiful wedding.
{And maybe I cant wait even more to have another best friend married!}

We love mary and andrew. Andrew once brought me a shake from sonic when i was sick, and tried on zach's birthday present for me so I knew it would fit. And mary stayed up late many a night to listen to me vent, or to help me plan the wedding. and she would get just as excited as me.

Sometimes me and mary get so excited we jump up and down and scream. we cant help it. sometimes its the only way you can express your feelings. like when I first got my wedding dress and mary tried it on and modeled it for our roommates. Or when andrew texted her something sweet. Or when I found the perfect brooch for my hair or decided on my colors. Or last night at 2 in the morning when I saw that it was mary calling. I couldnt help it. dont tell my neighbors it was me.

We love you guys!
{and we are maybe already planning trips!}

so happy

I need to let you all know {without too many details} that paypal has decided in our favor and the 500 dollars for the macbook has returned, safe and secure, to our bank account. {If you would like more details, feel free to email me}.

A weight has been lifted.
Thanks for all your support.

I'm so happy.

P.S. I got extra credit on our presentation for natural and appropriate use of gestures.
Thank you Sue Baylis for forcing me to use awkward gestures in speech, they have decided to come natural now.

Also, I love the feeling when it rains. but sometimes i start gagging because I am pretty sure I can smell the worms and snails that emerge. It makes me sick.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

One more thing..

I had to give a group presentation today.
It was about conserving water.
and.
going.
green.
I like the idea of going green, but I never do anything about it.
except maybe buy recycled aluminum foil because it had a tree on it that was cute.
Or maybe a 0% plastic, reusable bag at gap for my group project.

I think im going to start using it.
Since I did buy it.

I also strolled around baby gap for awhile because I always do that.

I should have gone to the statistics lab today since i missed 13 questions on my assignment, but instead I watched ice age. I also should be calling people to tell them their liscense plates are in, but instead im telling you what i did today. sorry people who dont know their liscense plates are here. i'll call you soon.

p.s. there is a cute girl in one of my classes that always dresses cute and never talks. I sometimes steal her clothing ideas and wear them at night, when im awake and put on make up. She is probably one of those girls who recycles everything and has eco friendly nail polish {does that exist??}. zach thinks im weird when i tell him things like this. so im telling you. today i liked her cheetah shoes. maybe i'll buy some. {and maybe at target rather than Nordstrom}.

House is back

I love fall.
I love jacket and boots weather.
I love the trees.
I love my sparkle pumpkins.
I love seeing pumpkins on doorsteps.
I love my friends fall party.
I love using my yellow umbrella.
I love coming home and eating warm tomato soup.
And I love season premiers.
Like House. {I was worried at first, but on Monday I felt like he started redeeming himself. Thanks, House.}
And the office.
And Community.
And Parks and Rec.
And a lot of other great shows.
Those are just the ones me and my husband agree on.

Zach tivos all these shows and waits for me to get home from work so we can watch them together. (and maybe so he doesnt have to watch them twice).

Have you watched House? My friend Shelly told me about this show in Mr. Lloyd's gym class in high school. I was loving it just hearing her explain the opening scene. Which still gets me every time. In the opening scene there is always a captivating story that introduces the characters and makes you feel attached to them which ends with someone passing out. I love it. During the intro music that follows the opening scene I start dancing to it. because I get excited for the show.

I didnt really realize I did that until zach one time asked me why I wasnt doing my House dance. Must have not been a very captivating opening...

And Zach always sings the song to the new tmobile commercial.

We're weird.
This is what happens when you leave us alone in provo.

breakfast in bed, centerpieces and I's birthday

We celebrated Zach's nephew's birthday in St. George this weekend.
The big 2.
He is the funniest kid, Zach always looks forward to playing with his "mouth boy."
We love you Ira.

This weekend I was getting into the hot tub with Ira and Zach and Ira yelled at me. "No Yiz! Dont!"
I know he still loves me more than zach though, we're just keeping our relationship secret for now
Yes. this is a tuna fish sandwich. At 10 a.m. On a roll. I have a good husband.
One of the beautiful centerpieces from jen's wedding. love it.

Wedding Time

Hi.
My friend Jenny Redd got married yesterday.
The second married friend in our {cheerleader clique} group.
YES!
I love weddings.
More to come soon....very soon I hope.
Hers {and Steve's} was beautiful.
I like that Bountiful people often marry Bountiful people.
Like Jen and Steve.
Wish I could have made it to the temple.
We're happy for you two!
{and happy I have a married friend from Btown!}
Pictures will come as soon as I can figure out how to load them onto my new dell.

My mom called me today and asked how the wedding was and what the colors were, etc. She said she asked my brother and he said, "I think they were red {not sure what random color he said}... well, her dress was white I know that." THE COLORS WERE EVERYWHERE. But, I am sure my husband would say the same thing if you asked him. Amazing how little detail they pick up... I kind of love it.

Betsy Pilkington {Mary's mom} did the flowers. I've never seen such beautiful centerpieces.
Why can't I be as creative and crafty and great as the pilkingtons?
Check out Mary's etsy shop {that i cant believe i JUST found out about. Mary.....}

A few things

I need to tell you a few things.

First, this morning my husband woke up to a knock on the door and our mini netbook was on the doorstep!!!
I was so happy.
Not sure why it decided to just show up, but we are very happy it did.

Second, Ive been thinking about my life and if computer problems are the worst thing that is happening, my life is not that bad.

Its pretty good actually.

Third, at four in the morning I woke up to a kind of crashing sound. I sat up and could see that our kitchen light was mysteriously on. As I was sitting there trying to figure out how the kitchen light turned on Zach suddenly sat up, looked at the door, and then layed back down. About five seconds later he sat up and looked at me and then stood up and started walking towards the door. Seriously I thought someone was in our apartment. He just was standing in the doorway of our room staring into the hallway {trying to wake up}. I jumped out of bed and looked into the doorway and saw that our chalkboard that was on the wall in the hallway was now on the floor.

I really had been holding my breath the whole time.
The chalkboard had fallen and hit the light switch on its way down.

I wonder how long it would have taken my husband to realize that if I hadnt gotten up. {he's not all there before 9 a.m.}.

It was a strange thing.

Fourth, I wish I was helping my aunt move {or playing with her cute cute boys, Van and Asher} and going to my baby Lacy's buddy walk and going to the relief society general conference meeting with my mom and her sisters, but i'm not. im at "thank you for calling murdock hyundai, how may I direct your call?"

Fifth, I got my husband some really cool {he doesnt like it so much when I call everything cute} brown cords for his birthday, and he took them back and got some pretty cute brown jeans instead. But I like the cords better.

Friday, September 25, 2009

Hi.

Hi people.

Because of the HIGH demand, I am going to tell you more about our computers.

It all started about 2 months ago when my husbands computer stopped turning on. We were very worried about the poor thing, so we took it into simplymac to have it looked at and to see if we could make it survive. We were told it was the hard drive and that we would have to get it replaced. So, we paid the $45 to get a diagnostic which goes towards fixing the hard drive. Turns out, it was the motherboard that crashed. And, since we didnt want to fix that, we lost the $45.

Fine.We can live with that.

What we then decided to do was buy a mini net book off ebay for $300, as well as a macbook that was under warranty until 2012 {unlike mine or zach boy's} for $500. We were then planning on on selling my mac and just use these two new laptops.

As you know...... a few weeks go by, and we hadnt seen or heard any news on our laptops.

So, of course, I investigate.

I tracked the netbook through fedex. It was said to have been delivered. It, obviously, had not been delivered.

So, I called fedex 5000 times and talked to 5000 different people for them to finally tell me that they would reimburse the seller and he could then reimburse me.

Fine.

So I contact the seller and tell him the ordeal, make sure he files a claim with fedex, and then wait for fedex to start the reimbursing.
I get the feeling my seller is not as persistent with fedex as I am.
So I still call fedex everyday and email my seller to make sure this is happening.

I know, so annoying, I would hate me. but people, it has to be done.

So fine, we are kind of getting somewhere with one computer.
Other computer was sent by an idiot through USPS with NO insurance.
And USPS doesnt care what I say to them, they say we dont care about your sob story it is out of our hands.
Oh and my idiot seller will not email me back, no matter how many emails I send him.
So, through paypal we must go.
Only problem is it takes 30 days to get anywhere with that.
So we will wait, but we WILL get our money back.

And I hate ebay now.

For a little while.

So, you may think our story is over. and i wish it was people.

A few days ago I got a text from my husband saying that my computer was broken.
I took it in today to the lovely simplymac where they probably now hate me because I was really onery, and I think the guy was scared of me, but there i was having dejavu because he was telling me it was my hard drive and would be $45 dollars to get it fixed,
him: "but dont worry because that goes towards..."
me: "the new hard drive, i know, i did this last month. and it wasnt the hard drive."
I dont know why I felt I needed to take it out on Roger that my baby was broken, but I did. He told me it would cost $75 to get it backed up, but that they didnt guarantee getting anything off of it.

I almost started crying, I really did. My life is on there.

Anyways, long story that is not short {im sorry people, my husband says im a bad story teller because I tell too many details, i'll work on it}, We are going to see if we can find a way to back it up ourselves and then give in and give it to our friends {or maybe not friends} at simply mac and pay the $45 and pray that its worth it.

And if it does start again, Im not selling it. I realized how attached I really am to my little, beat up, ill macbook. We've been through a lot together...
Bringing it home the first day from the gateway, I have a good dad. I was so happy.
First day of college.
Watching the notebook and many other movies on it with mags on my bed in the dorms.
Playing on photobooth many a friday night with my roomies.
Writing paper after paper after paper after paper and sending them to my dad to edit {or tell me to start over}.
Never losing one of my documents.
Trying to talk to zach on ichat when he lived in slc
Living, sleeping, and breathing with that thing during finals week.
Fbook and blog stalking.
Talking to Ali on skype when she was in europe
And being one of the stable things in my life.
not so much anymore.
Good bye friend.
Please come back soon.
It's weird that you are my friend, but you are.

we want to cry

August 31: purchased 2 computers off ebay from 2 different sellers.
September 22: still no sign of computers.
Like I said before, we want to cry.

Welcome to 25, love

Happy birthday Zachary!
even though you are an old man, i'm glad your my old man.
